CUSTOM ARTIST

Thank you for your interest in employment at Painted Peacock!

While Painted Peacock is a paint your own pottery and creative studio, we have expanded to provide custom painted, handprint art.  Our designs range from simple adaptations to complex and intricate designs.  We are seeking a qualified painter that is eager to learn our style of painting and grow with our company.

All employees are expected to be organized, reliable, timely, have an attention to detail and a strong work ethic.  The custom artist will report to the Director of Custom Work.

We hold a 90-day probationary period.  Reviews and support will be provided at 90 days and as needed throughout your employment.  We strive to provide a professional, yet fun, working environment and expect honesty and open communication with all employees.

 

Partial job description for Custom Artist:  15-20hrs/week

The Custom Artist is responsible for painting custom work, tracking due dates, ensuring accuracy, and maintaining the quality standard of Painted Peacock.  This position is not intended for personal art practice; it is solely to create work for Painted Peacock and their customers. 

 

Requirements

Must have a background in drawing and painting.

Must have the ability to learn other styles of painting.

Drawing from reference/drawing from life is required.

Hand-lettering/ fauxligraphy capabilities are a benefit, but not required.

Must have the ability to work independently and with deadlines

Must be available to work around major holidays when retail is busiest.

A willingness to learn is required
Experience painting pottery is NOT

 

All designs are intellectual property of Painted Peacock. There is no selling of your personal work or competing with our business.  A signed non-compete and non-disclosure is required.
